Arizona Grand Resort Earns Green Certification From The Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association
PHOENIX, Ariz. – (August 19, 2010) – Arizona Grand Resort® today announced that it recently earned its Green Certification from the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association (AzHLA) for the Resort’s practices in environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.
Arizona Grand Resort met AzHLA’s requirements for its energy savings program, chemicals management program, locally sourcing and purchasing foods and materials as well as for creating a unique sense of place for guests.
In order to receive this certification, hotels have to complete the AzHLA Certified Green self-certification workbook and receive at least 100 points for a variety of green efforts. For program verification, third-party inspectors are sent to randomly selected properties throughout the year. The Resort will hold quarterly meetings to assess their efforts and look for additional ways to enhance their internal green efforts.
“We strive to provide all guests of Arizona Grand Resort the assurance that we are doing all we can to implement the kinds of practices that are helping our environment today and in the future,” stated Managing Director Richard Behr. “Whether conserving water with our swimming pool technology that reduces evaporation or cutting down carbon and fossil fuel emissions by sourcing locally produced meats, we are doing our part to be good stewards of the environment that we all share.”
